MLS: How it works
The MLS, or Multiple Listing Service, is a marketing medium shared between Real Estate Agents and Affiliates. Seller's Agents list properties for sale and Buyer's Agents search for properties here. Properties for sale are described using very specific criteria and features which are then searchable when used by the Buyer's Agent.
In the Boulder and Denver area there are two MLS systems; One for Denver and the immediate surrounding areas and another for Boulder and the rest of Northern Colorado. Boulder Real Estate Services subscribes and uses both systems to better serve our clients and increase marketing exposure for our listings. In addition to serving real estate professionals, both MLS contribute to www.realtor.com, a collaboration of MLS systems nationwide which is intended for use by the general public. You may access the Northern Colorado MLS listings by using our Search for Properties feature on the left-hand menu. Although this feature is very helpful, your BRS Agent will be able to provide you a more thorough and high-powered property search by using the MLS database directly. Ask your BRS Agent about MySite, our Buyer's personalized and secure website for viewing listings resulting from this high-powered search. More information about MySite on the left-hand menu.
